Jackson Detective Agency (Spring 2011)Inspiration: film noir, private investigators
Plot: The Governor has sent a family heirloom of his wife (The Governess) off to be cleaned and restored. However, it was somehow stolen by master thief, Dexter Bastard! The Governor believes one of the town's three mob bosses are to blame, so he hires the Jackson Detective Agency to determine which mob boss is responsible. The Agency is understaffed as it is so they hire teams of 2-4 detective interns to help with this major case. Teams solve puzzles to reveal that the truth runs much deeper than a simple heist: the Governess was actually having an affair with one of the mob bosses. To avoid her husband finding the love letters she had hidden in the heirloom, the Governess hired Bastard to steal the heirloom during restoration. However, Bastard turned on her and is holding the heirloom for ransom and will sell it to the highest bidder. Teams discover that three individuals are trying to buy the heirloom back from Dexter Bastard: the Governess, her lover mob boss, and a second mob boss who wants to use the heirloom as black mail (the third mob boss is just some guy, minding his own mob business). After solving enough puzzles, the teams discover the location of Dexter Bastard and steal the heirloom back from him. The winning team then has a choice to make, thus altering the ending of the plot. The options are these:
