An Infinitely Improbably Puzzle Hunt (Fall 2013)

Zombie Hunt (Spring 2014)

Inspiration: zombies, "what a twist!"

Plot: An outbreak of zombie plague has broken out at CMU. On the Facebook event advertising the puzzle hunt event, a user named Survivor Zed suggests to Hunt Staff that they use their puzzle hunt as a way to recruit students who have avoided becoming zombies so they can find a cure together. Weeks later, teams are gathered on campus for the event. Hunt Staff explains to the players that they have located a safe haven to the north of campus where the last remaining humans are gathering their research on the plague. Teams solve an initial set of puzzles to discover this location.

After going across campus to the safe haven to receive more puzzles, the teams are ambushed by No-Longer-Survivor Zed and other zombie actors who infect them with the zombie plague. Now zombies themselves, team motivations chang from finding a cure to eating all remaining humans. The Hunt Staff is no longer an ally, but rather a target, and they have just given players the puzzles they needed to solve to find and eat them.
